Worship MinistriesMusic MinistriesSt. Luke’s is known for the excellence of its music programs. Under the leadership of our Director of Music Ministries, we have an all-volunteer Adult Choir, as well as Youth and Children’s Choirs, Adult and Youth Bell Choirs, and a number of instrumentalists. Click here for information about the St. Luke's Aeolian-Skinner organ. Healing MinistryPrayer teams pray for physical and spiritual healing on behalf of parishioners and their loved ones during the 10 a.m. Sunday Traditional and River services. AcolytesBeginning in the 6th grade, youth acolytes train to help serve during worship services. We also maintain a team of adult acolytes. Lay Readers/Chalice Bearers/Lay Eucharistic MinistersLay Readers and Chalice Bearers are licensed by the Bishop to read Old Testament Lessons, The Epistle, and Prayers of the People, and to administer the Chalice in the Eucharist. Lay Eucharistic Ministers also bring the Communion sacraments to the sick and shut-in who are unable to attend worship at St. Luke’s. St. Anne’s Altar GuildThe Altar Guild prepares the church for all worship services, including decorations for festivals and other special occasions, and maintains the vestments and altar serving pieces. GreetersThis group has the responsibility of greeting and welcoming members, visitors and guests to St Luke’s. They provide assistance, information, direction and a warm welcome to all who worship at St Luke’s. In addition, the Greeters sponsors Newcomers’ Receptions throughout the year. UshersUshers greet arriving worshippers as they enter the church, gather the offering, and they guide people to the altar rail. Ushers also clean and straighten the pews after the service. OblationersOn a rotating basis, parishioners bring the bread and wine to the altar as a part of our weekly offerings to God. St. Clare’s GuildThis guild creates needlepoint artwork, such as altar kneelers, for the parish. |
