St. Luke's
Children's Ministry

"Let the Children Come to Me..."

Now they were bringing even infants to him that he might touch them; and when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them to him, saying, "Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it."- Luke 18:15-17

A general description of the St. Luke's Children's Ministries can be found on this page. Stay informed at the St. Luke's Children's Ministry blog, which has lots of pictures and information about what the Children's Ministry is up to.

Nursery: Newborn through 3 Years

Nursery is provided for children birth through 3 years old in Room 104. Our loving nursery staff will share God’s love with our littlest ones during both the 10 a.m. Sunday service, as well as during Christian Education classes.

Security and safety is insured by way of a sign-in sheet that parents fill in each time their child/children attend the nursery.

Healthy snacks, such as graham crackers and goldfish, are provided.

Pagers are provided to parents, allowing the nursery staff to be in direct contact, should the need arise.

Nursery is provided year round on Sunday mornings, during Wednesday night activities, and for special events.

Children’s Chapel

After the gospel reading, the crucifer leads children ages 3 through 2nd grade to the Education Building, where they participate in a worship experience customized for their age group. While listening to a sermon, reciting the Apostles’ Creed, participating in the Prayers of the People, and confessing their sin, our children are able to experience Christ in a way meaningful to them. Children return to service in time for the passing of The Peace to participate in Holy Communion with their families.

Christian Education

Christian education for children is a high priority at St. Luke’s. From age 4 through 6th grade, we offer a Bible-based curriculum that introduces our children to stories from the Bible and reinforces the importance of the lessons the stories tell. Christian Education begins in room 201 of the Education Building; after a brief introduction, the children are divided by age into activities that reinforce the lesson series being studied.

The Christian Education year kicks off in mid-September and runs throughout the school year (typically late May).

EYE (Energetic Young Episcopalians)

One Friday a month, children in Kindergarden-5th grade are invited for dinner and a movie in the youth lounge. This time of fellowship and fun is a great way for your child to meet their peers, have a safe enviroment to just be a kid, and to be with other young believers... and it's a great way for mom and dad to have a date night. Check the calendar for this months night. (This activity is in recess the month of Vacation Bible School and Easter)

Family Ministry Sunday

One Sunday a month, ALL FAMILIES are invited to partake in lunch and Christian fellowship following Sunday School. Activities have included: ice skating, roller skating, flying kites and picnics, bowling, game night, movie on the lawn, and more. Check the calendar for this month's activity. (This event is in recess the month of Vacation Bible School and December).
