Honduras Mission Trip 2009
Letter from Pam Jurlina, Mission Team Member 2009.

How are things going there in Dallas? I miss you all terribly and wish you were here to share all these experiences with me. The countryside reminds me of Costa Rica except we are not on the ocean, so there are not the beautiful ocean vistas we experienced there. However the change of pace and respite from the daily work of the city is a nice and welcome change. Today, we went to church at the place where we have had clinic all week and it was a lovely service with a full church today. It is very different from ours in some ways, but the liturgy is the same. Sabrina, you would be a welcome addition to their church music!!! But they sing from the heart and for the love of the Lord and that is all that matters to God!!
After church we returned to the hotel, had lunch and then some people went to a local soccer game, but I decided to stay at the hotel and take a nap, exercise, and read a little bit--basically do nothing. And, I actually had time to write to y'all and say hello and tell you all how much I love you and miss you all. I enjoy the time away, but it would be so much more enjoyable with my family with me.
We are going to have Honduran pizza tonight--should be interesting. Actually, the man who owns this hotel is Italian from Venice and so he has Italian food on the menu as well as local food so the pizza should be good!!
….. Tomorrow we return to the clinic and I guess we will see just as many people-between 120-170 people. They are so poor they cannot even afford basic Tylenol or ibuprofen for their aches and pains. Pray for them and pray for us as we minister to them and share the love of Christ.
All for now, family. Take care of yourselves and I love you all.
Pam Jurlina
